01

Product Basics

What Walk On Ice is, what it contains and how quickly it works.

7 questions
What is Walk On Ice?

Walk On Ice is our portable mineral traction agent for icy and snowy outdoor surfaces. Sprinkle it over a targeted trouble spot to add surface texture for pedestrians, pets or a stationary vehicle that needs localized traction.

Is Walk On Ice an ice melter?

No. Walk On Ice is a traction agent, not an ice melter. It adds grip to the surface without melting or removing the underlying ice.

What is Walk On Ice made from?

Walk On Ice contains a blend of naturally occurring mineral material. Our Chemical Analysis provides elemental test results for a tested sample identified as GAIA SCORIA.

How quickly does Walk On Ice work?

Walk On Ice adds surface traction immediately after it is applied. There is no melting period or waiting time before the mineral texture begins providing grip.

What is the lowest listed working temperature?

Walk On Ice is listed for use at temperatures down to −35°C (−31°F).

Does Walk On Ice remove snow or ice?

No. Walk On Ice does not remove snow or melt ice. Clear loose snow when practical, then apply Walk On Ice to the remaining slick areas where additional traction is needed.

Where is Walk On Ice made?

Walk On Ice is made and assembled in the USA.

02

How It Works and How to Apply It

Application, coverage, timing and reapplication guidance.

8 questions
How does Walk On Ice create traction?

The mineral blend works through physical action. Some particles help absorb the thin liquid layer that can make ice slippery, while others grip or become embedded in the icy surface. Together, they add a textured path across the treated area.

How do I apply Walk On Ice?

Remove loose snow when practical. Turn the canister so the white dispensing lid faces the ground, then sprinkle a light, visible layer over the icy or snowy trouble spot. Walk carefully and add more only where additional texture is needed.

Which end of the canister should face downward during application?

The white perforated dispensing lid should face downward. The entire canister, including its printed label, turns with the container while you sprinkle the mineral material onto the surface.

How much Walk On Ice should I use?

Apply enough to create a visible distribution of mineral particles across the slippery area. A thin, even application is generally more useful than leaving the product in piles. Coverage will vary with surface conditions, traffic and the size of the trouble spot.

Should I shovel before applying Walk On Ice?

Yes, when practical. Removing loose or deep snow helps the mineral particles reach the slick surface below. Walk On Ice can then be applied to remaining ice, packed snow or recurring trouble spots.

When should Walk On Ice be reapplied?

Reapply when the mineral particles become covered by new snow, displaced by traffic, swept away or no longer provide enough visible texture. Check treated areas as weather and surface conditions change.

Can I apply Walk On Ice before, during or after a winter storm?

Apply it whenever targeted surface traction is needed. It is especially useful after loose snow has been cleared, but it can also be used on packed snow or an active icy trouble spot. Continue monitoring the area during changing weather.

Does Walk On Ice replace normal winter maintenance?

No. Walk On Ice supports a broader winter-safety plan. Continue to remove snow, maintain the property, use suitable footwear, post warnings when appropriate and follow your organization’s winter procedures.

03

Where to Use Walk On Ice

Common outdoor surfaces, trouble spots and facility applications.

8 questions
Where can Walk On Ice be applied?

Apply Walk On Ice to targeted icy or snowy outdoor areas such as sidewalks, steps, walkways, driveways and decks. It can also be used at the tire-contact area of a stationary vehicle that needs localized ground-level traction.

Can Walk On Ice be used on sidewalks and walkways?

Yes. Sprinkle it over detected icy or packed-snow trouble spots on outdoor sidewalks and walkways. Clear loose snow first when practical and reapply if traffic or fresh precipitation covers or displaces the particles.

Can Walk On Ice be used on outdoor steps and entrances?

Yes. It can add mineral texture to targeted icy areas on outdoor steps, landings and entrance routes. Keep the canister near an accessible indoor storage point so it can be applied without first crossing an untreated area.

Can Walk On Ice be used on driveways and decks?

Yes. Walk On Ice can be applied to targeted icy or snowy areas on driveways and outdoor decks. Use it where traction is needed rather than treating it as a product for melting the entire surface.

Can Walk On Ice be used on black ice?

Walk On Ice can add texture to a detected black-ice trouble spot. Because black ice can be difficult to see and conditions may extend beyond the treated area, move carefully and continue using appropriate winter precautions.

Can organizations use Walk On Ice at entrances and drop-off areas?

Yes. Facilities teams can position individual canisters near entrances, outdoor steps, pedestrian routes, staff areas and passenger drop-off points for targeted application. Walk On Ice does not replace plowing, shoveling, inspection or other site procedures.

Is Walk On Ice intended for extensive parking lots or large commercial grounds?

The portable 1.75 lb canister is best suited to targeted trouble spots and distribution across entrances, vehicles or locations. If you manage extensive outdoor areas or need repeated large-scale treatment, contact us about the most appropriate ice-traction format for your requirement.

Should Walk On Ice be used as loose traction material indoors?

Walk On Ice is intended for outdoor icy and snowy surfaces. Sweep up particles that are tracked indoors and follow the maintenance requirements for the interior flooring.

People, Pets and Vehicles

Guidance for households, caregivers, pet owners and drivers.

7 questions
Who can benefit from having Walk On Ice available?

Walk On Ice can support homeowners, renters, older adults, caregivers, pet owners, drivers, property teams and organizations that want portable traction available near outdoor winter trouble spots.

How can older adults and caregivers use Walk On Ice?

Keep a canister inside a frequently used entrance or with a caregiver so a targeted icy area can be treated before it is crossed. Added surface texture can complement suitable footwear, mobility aids, handrails and careful movement.

Can Walk On Ice be used in areas where pets walk?

Yes. Walk On Ice is a mineral traction agent designed for outdoor routes used by people and pets. It does not rely on an ice-melting chemical reaction. Apply it as directed, prevent unnecessary dust and keep the container closed when not in use.

Can someone using a cane, walker or other mobility aid use a treated area?

Walk On Ice can add texture to a targeted surface, but surface traction is only one part of mobility safety. Continue using the appropriate mobility aid, handrails, assistance and footwear, and avoid any route that remains unsafe.

Can Walk On Ice help when a vehicle is stuck on ice, snow or slush?

It can be applied at and around the tire-contact area of a stationary vehicle to add localized ground-level traction. Use caution, keep people clear of moving tires and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s guidance before attempting to move.

Is Walk On Ice a replacement for winter tires, chains or other driving equipment?

No. Walk On Ice is for a localized trouble spot around a stationary tire. It is not designed to provide continuous traction along an icy driving route and does not replace winter tires, chains, cables or other equipment required by conditions or law.

Can Walk On Ice be kept in a vehicle or winter emergency kit?

Yes. Its compact canister is suitable for vehicle, fleet and winter-preparedness kits. Store it with the lid closed and position it where it can be reached safely if localized traction is needed.

05

Product Comparisons

How mineral traction differs from melting, wearable and installed options.

5 questions
How does Walk On Ice compare with ice melt?

Ice melt lowers the freezing point of water to help melt ice. Walk On Ice works differently: it adds mineral texture without melting the underlying ice. The two product types serve different purposes and may be used as separate parts of a winter-maintenance plan.

How does Walk On Ice compare with sand or kitty litter?

Sand and some granular household materials are sometimes used to add temporary surface texture. Walk On Ice is a purpose-positioned, portable mineral traction product supplied in a dispensing canister for targeted icy and snowy trouble spots.

How does Walk On Ice compare with winter boots, shoe cleats and removable spikes?

Winter boots, cleats and removable spikes add traction to the footwear of the person wearing them. Walk On Ice is applied to the surface, allowing a targeted treated area to serve multiple people or pets. It can be used alongside suitable winter footwear.

How does Walk On Ice compare with studded tires, tire chains, cables and tire socks?

Those products attach to vehicle tires to provide traction while travelling. Walk On Ice is applied to the ground at and around a stationary tire when localized traction is needed. It is not a substitute for equipment intended for continued driving.

How does Walk On Ice compare with traction mats, heated mats and anti-slip coatings?

Mats, heating systems and coatings provide traction or ice control within an installed or defined area. Walk On Ice is portable and can be applied directly to the current trouble spot without electricity or permanent installation. Reapply it when particles become covered or displaced.
